The most stand-out paint color I chose for this design project was Antique Burgundy by Valspar. I chose this color initially for the vanity in the bathroom, to ground the small space and complement some of Joy's beautiful artwork. Once this piece transitioned, I fell in love with this rich shade and met with Joy to see if she loved it as much as I did. Joy agreed and soon after the flower boxes around the house and the front door were painted in this color, which has resoundingly become the visitor's favorite.

Joy's cottage had soft yellow walls with a cream brick accent wall and tan sconces. To modernize, we painted the walls a neutral light grey and the brick a glossy bright white accompanied by modern sconces from pottery barn.

Joy's favorite spot to sit and view the lake and outdoor gardens is by the back patio door. She previously sat at a table in these dining chairs and I really wanted to create a lovely space for dining while also giving her a comfortable spot for her primary sitting area. She loves it.

Joy's cottage had a small sleeper sofa with blue and burgundy stripes. It was difficult to find a modern sofa that was just the right size for her space. I expanded on the neutral grey color of the living space to keep heart the star of the design. The sofa is from West Elm.

Choosing lighting is one of the most important parts of any design. It truly is functional art and there are many companies that offer wonderful choices online. I chose this particular pendant light because the black standouts as trendy but unique. Joy was hesitant with my choice but ultimately it became one of her favorite changes.
